Yamuna Peiris is a dedicated secretarial professional with over 30 years’ experience in the field of secretarial work and has solid understanding of office administration procedures.

After completing her education at Devi Balika Vidyalaya, Colombo 08, she started on her career at Road Development Authority and later joined Bata Shoe Company of Ceylon Ltd, Ratmalana. A few years later, she joined Sampath Bank PLC where she gained valuable experience, serving the Bank, since 1991 to 2019 for nearly 27 years and retired from the service of the Bank as a Senior Executive Secretary.

During her long tenure at the Bank, she worked at International Department, Pettah Branch, Trade Services Department and Risk and Compliance Department before transitioning to the Secretariat Department. In her role in Risk and Compliance, she has gained a thorough understanding of regulatory requirements and compliance processes. Later, she moved to the Secretariat Department, where she was responsible for handling all confidential work which includes managing board meetings, preparing minutes, and maintaining accurate records.

After retiring from the Bank, she joined Sampath Centre Limited, a subsidiary company of Sampath Bank PLC as Group Secretariat Administrator in 2019. With her extensive experience in secretarial work, she was able to provide exceptional support across multiple subsidiary companies of Sampath Bank PLC. She is familiar with Corporate Governance requirements as she was engaged in the preparation of Annual Reports of the Bank and its subsidiary companies.

She holds a diploma in Secretarial Practice awarded by the Advance Technological Institute, Dehiwala which provided her with a comprehensive understanding of office administration and secretarial work.
